There is no site fee and most of the pages appear directly from their icons without the use of Adobe or PDF. We explored this link recently when our youngest was home for a week with bronchitis.

Disney Family has gobs of free valentine printables. this website features really nice images of the crafts and well-detailed instructions. Look for free prinable Disney character crafts: Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Toy Story, Pixar--print crafts of all your favorites. Chinese New Year falls at a different time each year on the Western calendar. In the 12-year Chinese zodiac, a different spirit animal is honored as are people born under that animal sign (for example, in 2016, 2004, 1992, 1980, 1968, 1956 and on back through the multiples of 12). 

To celebrate, greet each other with the traditional Chinese New Year blessing "Gung Hay Fat Choy!" Chinese New Year is part of the Spring Festival and ends with the Lantern Festival. Animals that represent Chinese New Year are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Ox, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig (in that order). 2017 will by Year of the Rooster, 2018 will be Year of the Dog (and so on).To find out which animal you were born under, count backwards or forwards from the current year or add or subtract multiples of 12. For example, if you were born in 1964, the closest Year of the Monkey is 1968, so count backwards four years to 1964, Year of the Dragon.

Free Printable Where the Wild Things Are Lessons, Activities and Crafts

March is National Reading Month and it's good time to pay tribute to beloved children's authors. In the category of picture books authors/illustrators, the late Maurice Sendak reigns on high. His most famous book is "Where the Wild Things Are" which Spike Jonze made into a movie in 2009, using giant animatronic wild things from the late Jim Henson's creature shop. It was a match made in heaven and Where the Wild Things was "wildly" popular. Here are free printable Where the Wild Things Are coloring, games, activities, lesson plans and book activities.

The Warner Brothers Where the Wild Things Are movie website Downloads page has wallpapers and movie posters that you can print and color. The pictures are shown in color. To print as a coloring page, choose one of the size options and left click it. When the poster or wallpaper opens in a new window, right click on the image. Choose "print image" and then set your printer preferences to print in Grayscale. This will print the image in black and white which you can then color. Wild, huh? There are images of Carol, Alexander, Judith, Ira, The bull, Douglas, KW and of course, Max Records himself. There are pictures of Max's boat also. Free Printable 3D Model Circus Carousel, Theater

Looking for a way to spice up literature or history lessons?  Here's a complete free printable vintage cirque (circus) carousel merry-go-round and a complete regency miniature theater with characters for the play Cinderella. These are available from the Victoria and Albert Museum. 

This link will take you to the free printable French circus carousel with sweet tiny little vintage toys circus performers and horses. The miniature circus carousel has lovely French script. The instructions are in French, but you will easily see how to cut and paste and then assemble your vintage carousel.  There are four pages for the free printable circus carousel.

This link takes you to a complete free printable miniature theater set for Cinderella. You will print in black and white and then color the entire miniature theater, characters, costumes and set. This document is 22 pages long. The miniature theater includes free printable stage with supports.  There are also several pages of scenery backdrops and characters dressed in costumes they wear for each scene of the play. Label each character's name, acts and scene numbers he appears in on the back lightly with pencil. That way you know how to arrange and move characters. The play is set in Regency France; Cinderella costumes are designed and set is furnished thus.

You get a superb source of vintage, historical free printable activities from all over the world! Today's cool old stuff comes from the Victoria and Albert Museum. Ancient history, Greco-Roman bas-relief, Oriental vases, Mesopotamian pottery, Phoenician cuneiform, Egyptian scarabs, Benares brass, Persian rugs, Medieval illuminations, regency England cavaliers, Edwardian toys, Victorian games...sigh, I think I've landed in antiquarian heaven. Some of the items are no longer available but here are some free printable paper toys. Here are lots more paper toys to print free. A small donation is requested but not required and you'll find tons of paper vehicles, games and toys. 

Free Printable Snowflake Patterns, Lessons and Activities

 Paper snowflakes make a great educational tools for science and math lesson plans. Cutting paper snowflakes is also fun! Here are free printable snowflake patterns, templates and stencils. Children learn math skills by exploring symmetry, shapes and geometric patterns in six-sided snowflakes. Students explore art concepts by cutting snowflakes. They learn pattern, line, shape and design. Children learn about earth science by creating snowflake patterns that simulate ice crystal formations. Students improve motor skills by cutting paper snowflake patterns. They improve perceptual skills by folding paper to create the six-sided snowflake patterns.

Marcel's Kid Crafts has free printable snowflake patterns and paper snowflakes to print and color. Easy folding and cutting instructions printed on snowflake pattern. Use these patterns for ages 9 and up. First Palette has more free paper snowflake templates to print.

Paper Snowflakes has free printable snowflake stencils and templates. Directions are more complicated. You can find free printable snowflake games, puzzles and patterns on this site. These patterns work well for younger children or special needs children. They are easier and less frustrating.

While students are cutting their snowflake patterns, explain the water cycle. Here are free printable water cycle worksheets, plus snow and crystals lesson plans. Use the printable water cycle poster to teach the three states of matter, using steam, water and ice to demonstrate.

Read "Snowflake Bentley" by Jaqueline Briggs Martin. This beautifully illustrated Caldecott Medal winner, tells the story of Wilson 'Snowflake' Bentley, photographer who first captured snowflakes on film and showed their unique hexagonal patterns. For a great closure to your snowflakes lessons, serve fruit juice snowcones as a classroom treat!
